Forged Hastelloy C276 Plate
Hastelloy C276 alloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium forged alloy and a multifunctional corrosion-resistant alloy. C-276 alloy is an improved forging alloy of C alloy. Usually, solution heat treatment is not required after welding, and its manufacturability is greatly improved. This alloy can prevent the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone of welding, and thus is suitable for chemical processing applications in most welding states. However, in an environment where the solder joints of C-276 alloy are eroded, the filler material of C-22 weld seams may be corroded. The use of C-22 welding filler material should be considered. The C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to local corrosion, as well as resistance to oxidizing and reducing media. Due to its versatility, the C-276 alloy can be used in places where "unstable" conditions may occur or in multi-purpose factories.
Hastelloy C-276 has excellent resistance to various chemical processing environments, including strong oxidants (such as ferric chloride and copper trichloride), heat-polluting media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic acid and acetic acid, acetic anhydride, as well as seawater and brine solutions. Because it has excellent tolerance to sulfur compounds and chloride ions in most scrubbers, it is used in flue gas desulfurization systems. The C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few materials that can resist the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.
Hastelloy C-276 can be forged, thermally expanded and impact extruded. Although this alloy tends to work harden, it can also be successfully formed by deep drawing, spinning, pressing or stamping. All common welding methods can be used for welding Hastelloy C-276 alloy, but the oxyacetylene process is not recommended. Special preventive measures should be taken to avoid excessive calorie intake
